Surprise
The look on my dads face when he say me in the hotel lobby yesterday was PRICELESS.. haha.
I arrived 8 hrs before my parents so Petra and Slaven came by the hotel, we went down to the mall and got some lunch and then we all took a nice power nap. Then they came by my hotel again and we got al dressed up and sat in the lobby to wait for my parents to arrive. It was a perfect setup with a small halfwall between lobby and the bar so we were hiding behind it with a few glasses of cava and we payed the receptionist to ask them to sit down when they arrived, like the room wasn't ready. The laughters the laughters.
When they were looking away the 3 of us stood up behind this wall and Slaven was filming everything. I swear my dad looked at me like 4 times before he realized it was me. Haha. Too funny.
We all had an amazing dinner at Cal Pep and then Me, Petra and Slaven har a few cocktails at milk and the night ended at SUTTON.
Slaven tried to sell me to some random guys and then the happy couple strated to fight and we went home. The best thing is that I had no memory of this when I woke up this morning, still drunk of my face :P

Leaving on a jetplane
And the time has come to leave Aspen and the United States for a 2 week vacation in Barcelona & Malmö.
Kind of have mixed feelings about leaving but so excited to see all of my Friends again and my Family.

Had an amazing last day in Aspen though. Me and Haz had a great Breakfast followed by shopping and drinking :P haha. This guy is so amazing and I am goign to miss him. Going from seeing each other every day to not see or be able to speak to each other for more than 2 weeks.
.
In a few hours I will be in NYC, huging it out with my Amandin! It is weird not to have seen you in several months. Today we will at least have 4 hours together!

Tomorrow morning I am waking up in Barcelona!

Can honestly say that I did not think my packing through well enough when moving here. I have 0 summer clothes. SO what else to do but shopping? hihi. Not me against!

Bought this cool dress on sale, previous 158 dollars but I bought it for 18 dollars, just makes me like it more.
A nice tight thing that made me look uber thin. Love it. And it will be amazing with my balck sandals! Oh yes!
My first and only buy in Aspen so far :P Good thing my friends knows the owner huh?
Bought a cool gold neckles with feathers to pimp up my black onepiece!
A cute little black thing, a bit more sporty but I love it. Will look casual chic, or like Haz would say "You look like you don't care" haha.

Resumes
So we are currently in a hiering face at the hotel and OMG some of the resumes we receive. I can honestly say that I prefer the CV system we have in Europe. These resumes are about five pages long and the most boring essays I have ever read. Who wants to know that you were responsible for making sure the bathrooms got cleaned regulary at the McDonalds you worked at eight years ago? Let me answer it for you, NOONE!
I am quite amazed that we received a good 35 resumes but only one of them have ever worked in a Front Desk, like what? Are you guys serious? I understand, I have applied to some jobs I am not a 100% qualified for but I have atleast a Hospitality Management Education. These guys are engineers, nurses, ski instructors and telephone operators. NO, no, NO. It's a bit frustrating.

Anywho, I am exiting to get some new people to our team, season is starting and I can't wait for the hotel to be busy again!

I feel that my Les Roches Blog is suffering at the moment. I just have 0 motivation to write for it at the moment. All my energy basically goes to working and to improve things over there. At the moment I am working on our Front Desk training manuals and deparment cross training. Plus I made the mistake of offering to help my manager with some stuff today so i will be busy, busy until I leave.
If you have any suggestions of what I can write about please help me out! I need all the motivation I can get and I could really use another post before I leave for vacation. Because lets face it, there will not be any time leftover for writing when I am out of here :P

Friday, oh you lovely Friday
Doesn't matter if i am working or not, Fridays are always most welcomed!
The feeling of Weekend is coming over me and tomorrow night will be my last night actually doing something before I leave!

So two overnights are done, 5 more to go. And it doesn't feel that bad when you know that Barcelona is waiting around the corner. In a week I will be in Barca, hopefully sipping cocktails down by CDLC or Shoko :)

The best part is that my Dad still doesn't have a clue that I am coming, he still thinks I am going down to San Diego to spend some time with Dennis. Haha.
So the plan is for me, Petra and Slaven to sit in the Hotel Lobby when they arrive with a nice bottle of Cava and act as cool as we can! May the force be with us. And then we are off to Cal Pep for Barcelonas best Tapas! The night will hopefully end in my favorite night club on this planet - SUTTON <3

Last day off before vacation time
Baam baam baam baaam... OH YES vacation is coming closer and closer.
Today is my last day off before leaving so, going downvalley with Haz to get the last few things I need and then I will work, work, work.
Talked to Amanda yesterday and she is coming out to Newark airport to have lunch with me since I have a 5 hour layover out there. Haven't seen her since graduation basically :) Gossip time!

I don't want to say that I need vacation to be honest, I could work the entire season, no problem. It is just that I have made all these plans to surprise my dad, dinner reservations here, brunch there. It has to be amazing! I Miss Barcelona so much as well. Me, David and Oscar had a skype date and talked about all the stupid things we did when we lived there. haha. Our Note-Fridge, Pancake Sundays, Going out several times a week, Picnics. Well it was an amazing time. Not too sure if would enjoy it as much without them though.

It is amazing weather today, compared to yesterday when it was seriously snowing/raining. So I am going for a nice run!

So I have spent the afternoon planning my dad's trip to The States.
The Plan is as follows:
Dad flying in to Aspen to spend a few days in my hotels, hiking, dining, and well exploring Aspen night life :P
Then we will both fly out to San Franciso to spend a few days touristing and visiting Dennis Fågel Grönlund and last but not least we will go to New York for my Birthday! YEY! And to visit my lovely Amanda!
Next stop for me will be back to Aspen while Daddy flyes back to Copenhagen.
So happy that he is coming to see me! And to spend my Birthday in NYC, The big apple! Pressure on Amanda to plan something fab ;)

Liquid diet in Barca
Had the most disturbing but fantastic conversation with Petra regarding our Barcelona trip.. and the Topic? Promoting a liquid diet, pros and cons.
.
So the entire conversation started with Slaven asking me to get ready for Barca because we are going to take Partying to a compleatly new level. LIKE. Obviously he didn't know me back when I lived there :P
Then the next morning I woke up to Petra's menu suggestion for the week:
B-fast: Sangria, got to have a lot of vitamins in the morning
Lunch: Cuba Libre, sugar to get through the day
Dinner: Mojitos, nice and herbie
.
I wasn't quite satified with this since I am mainly going to Barca for the Cava. So I came up with the wonderful idea of snack-time or what we in Sweden call "Mellanmål". To keep the bloodsugar level up nothing else. Check and mate. OR?
.
Well since we are taking Partying to a new level what about our night-snack or "Nattamat"? Hmm, something a bit more "foody" might be an idea. What about a daiquiri?
.
Petra insisted of getting some San Miguel beer into the game as well, cuz it is important to drink at least 2 L of fluid each day, even more in a warmer climate. So lets say 3 - 4 L.
.
All of a sudden my mother's nutritional value talks came into my head and I realized that we probably need a few white russians in the mix, to make sure we get enough calcium. We don't want to get dizzy.
.
Ending up our conversation we realized we covered most of the nutritional areas:
Vitamins - In the minth of our mojition, apples, oranges and lemon in the sangria and cuba libre
Minerals - Beer includes a lot of minerals
Fat - Well kind of everything on our menu
Carbs - Sugar and what is beer made of again?
But wait, what about protein? Slaven had the perfect idea. Lets just bring some protein pulver and shove that into one of the drinks of the day. Thank you Slaven you saved us! ;)

5 Year Engagement
Last week I went to see the 5 Year Engagement, god I love Jason Segal. Not only because he is amazing in How I met your mother but becuase he is just so fantastically funny. His expressions and goofyness is just what I need on my overnights, lazy hangover days in bed and any time I feel a bit down.
Soo best part of the movie?

"No today feels more like a bunny day!"

Do I even have to tell you that I am so buying a Bunny costume? And yes it has to be pink.

Dreams
Lately I have had the most f*cked up dreams. You know those that makes you wake up all sweaty and confussed. Several days I have woken up and really had to think of where I am. Checking my phone and realizing that those stupid phone calls, text messages and Whats app things never happened.
Like this morning I woke up and was a hundred procent sure that I would wake up in Malin's bed, yes in Sweden. Cuz I had a dream of all of us going out and then it got a bit too crazy and I passed out. It never crossed my mind that I am in U.S and Lotta in Hong Kong so the chance of that happening is extremly low. I guess that's why dreams are so great. Even the most impossible things can come true =)
.
I have a feeling that my dreams get more intense when I fall asleep with my computer or TV on, like they are disturbing my sleep in a way. But I have trouble falling asleep without them. I hate when the house is silent.
I guess I won't have any trouble falling asleep tonight, it will be more like passing out. ;) WOOPS.

Working Nights
All the respect, high fives and friendly tequila shots to all of you that work overnights, all the time. I have no idea how you do it.
.
I have done it for a week now and my entire body is messed up, I can't sleep and I can't eat. Working nights for me is like a crazy diet where coffee and red bull are my main nutritional intakes. No wonder I am going crazy!
So today I had a wonderful day off doing as little as I could. Went for a nice run in the morning and then spent the rest of the day to get to know my sunbed in our garden.
Tonight however I have dinner plans with Haz and then Training camp for Barcelona starts. Tonight is the pre-night to Cinco de Mayo and then yes Cinco de Mayo. Have a feeling I won't feel that hot at work on Sunday. Well well what to do? We all have to make sacrifices ;)

From Wednesday I am starting my second week of overnight however they might be a bit more motivating since they will start the count down to.. BARCELONA!
